    We have launched our Digital Strategy for 2025 to 2030.

    Our goal is simple: use digital tools to provide better, faster, and more accessible services for you. This website will share updates, news, and ways you can get involved.

    What’s happening and how it helps you

    Over the next few months, we’ll post regular updates about what we’re doing. We’ll be working on projects that come under our 4 main strategy themes:

    • Citizens and communities
    • Digital council
    • Our workforce
    • Infrastructure and systems

    Why our digital strategy matters

    For citizens and communities, it means quicker, simpler access to council services—whether paying bills, reporting issues, or finding information online—through secure systems that protect your data.

    For those who need offline support, we’ll offer face-to-face services at our Hubs and dedicated phone lines. We will also be helping people build digital skills so they can get online confidently if they choose.

    For our workforce, it means smarter tools that save time, reduce paperwork, and keep information safe, so employees can focus on delivering great services.

    By embracing technology, we’re building a more efficient and inclusive digital council for the whole city.

  • Managing digital projects

    We want to make sure all the digital projects in the council are managed in a consistent way. We are setting up guidance and standards to help council teams choose the right technology and gain the right skills.

  • Better outcomes

    A more complete view of citizens and families helps us make better decisions and deliver more joined-up support

  • Social media support

    Our social media team can give you quick responses and help you on platforms like X, Facebook and Instagram.

  • Connect to Cardiff

    We have friendly customer service staff at our C2C contact centre who are trained to help you get online or find alternatives if digital isn’t right for you.

  • Digital Support Team

    If you or someone know is not confident using websites and digital services you can get support at your local Hub. Our team has helped nearly 9,000 people since 2023 through local Hubs and workshops.

  • Council services

    Many of our services are available to you through our website. You can manage council tax, housing rent, planning applications, and apply for financial support online.

  • School applications

    Our system allows you to apply for Nursery, Reception, and Secondary school places online. You can save your form and go back to update it until you are ready to submit.

  • Parking permits

    You can manage all resident parking permits and visitor permits online. We are continuing to add more permits to the system. The resident permit service has been fully digital since 2023.

  • Improving how we manage citizen records

    We are reviewing our approach to managing citizen records. Our goal is to create a more connected view across all council services. This will help us understand and support residents better, while keeping information safe and secure.
